For reasons i'd rather not even begin to imagine, my 'new' engine doesn't have an engine number.

Its a secondhand engine, but the engine number isnt stamped where it should be. Maybe removed???

My issue is, i'm changing the logbook to match, what do i do? Make one up, or leave that bit of the logbook blank?

This is FORD country, on a quiet day you can hear Vauxhalls rusting.

make one up yourself and attatch it to the engine somewhere. think my old one was '1293 sccr turbo' or something soft like that.

number gets removed when the block is faced:) if you want a legit excuse *tongue* though is there is angle grinder gouges where it used to me your probably best not imagining *tongue* you could be lazy and stamp it with the old engien number then you dont need to tell the dvla *tongue*

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

It could save you a lot of hassle, just to leave the tax book as is, and stamp the engine accordingly...or dont stamp anything.

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

If you do go for a engine number. Make sure its from a car reg before 2002. To miss out on the new Tax banding restriction. And a whole load of extra pain from the DVLA.

I just changed mine and they sent me the paperwork for just that. e.g. after 2002, I shat myself...!

Rang them and spoke to someone in the know and got it sorted thank god.

But I'd make one up... MED do it all the time.
