In this:

It's one of these by the way:

I'm hoping to get it built in over the next couple of years.

Nice car.

I guess the same way as a normal mini - bulkhead mods or mirage manifolds.

Improvise....and an angle grinder is usually handy

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Always had a hankering after a Mini Marcos.

Presuming that there is as much space behind the engine as in a Mini then it should be easy.

wil_h, thats the problem - its even tighter than a mini. Even an MPi engine (which I'm more familiar with) won't fit without bonnet mods (verticle throttle body).
minivan rick - it's fibreglass at the bulkhead. I could do as stevieturbo suggests, but I'd be a bit nervous taking an angle grinder to a new car shell (and I've never really worked much with fibreglass).
apbellamy - whats a mirage manifold?
Either way I think there'll have to be some heat shielding going on.
I'm after a reliable 140bhp (around 200bhp per ton). Has anyone successfully fuel injected an a-series turbo?
The other option is possibly to go the K-head route.

Ah. The mirage basically allows you to fit a T2 in a Mini with no mods to the bulkhead. It might mean some mods on the Marcos, but less than with the Metro setup.

GRP is easy to work with, so cutting holes and making new bits shouldn't be too much of a worry.

If you can get some measurements between block and bulkhead I can measure mu mirage setup and see ehere you might have clearance problems,

Cheers wil_h, I've just been looking up mirage manifolds with the search button. I'll try and get some measurements block to bulkhead. Might not be until August (Marcos 50th at Prescott hill).

I've tried... The only option I can see in a Marcos is a turbo fitted above the flywheel. There is less room behind the engine than on a Mini, and it's all fibreglass obviously. You really DON'T want to cut this up

A small turbo over the flywheel would possibly work.

Have a read / look thru the build thread on my minus. I layed up a bulkhead box and fitted it, was simple enough to do.

Think Vegard has the right idear if your not into cutting the bulkhead , i'm looking at a t2 on mirage like manifold just so i don't have to cut my van up, but did like the mount over the flywheel when i see it on here ..
good luck with whatever You go with :)

ps, just had another look , is there enough space under the master cylinder..?

But look at the original post photos. Veg has no servo, so over the flywheel is an option, no so for this fella.

Could always loose the servo...

I guess...

But there is enough GRP expertise on here so that a box could be made and fitted without compromising the shell etc. assuming there is room in the drivers compartment etc. etc.

A big hammer.

I had a brief idea of getting a marcos and putting a vtec in it, now ive seen pics that idea is gone without an extended front end.
Good luck

best_stig, had the same thought myself! I quickly ditched the idea as well.
shane, loving the thread, and the pics - its strange that you seem to have MORE space at the bulkhead though! Keep the updates coming won't you?
Jason G, I'd appreachiate the mod info if you've got it? I'd think about trying to get marcos heritage to incorporate it into the shell build.
Mini13, not sure tilting the engine would work given the slope of the shell just in front of the bonnet - Vegard may be able to shed some light? I had also thought of the supercharger route, but most of the conversions I've seen utilise the MINI Cooper S 'charger mounted to the rear of the engine, so would suffer from the same lack of space?
There is always the BMW K head conversion I suppose, but I quite fancy another turbo engined car!

The minus shell has some very odd proportions due to the 3" missing in the body. As for the updates, very unlikely at the moment for lots of reasons. But if you need some advise or help with the grp please feel free to PM me.

Think I've found the answer!!!
I had my MPi on the rollers at Slark Race Engineering yesterday, and I saw this in the back of the garage:
