Dont worry, im not on crack or anything

My garage has been extroadinarily cluttered for the past 3/4 years and its got to the point where i need to have a major clear out, as actually fitting a car in there to work on has been proving exceedingly difficult :(

Its generally been a right tip, Ive literally have old minis piled up ontop of one another, all the work surfaces are buried with old suspension parts, brake bits, engine components etc, I have a pile of old panels in the corner about 2 m deep, and the place is was just genrally grotty as fook, about 3 years ago my habit of hoarding parts that ill most def never need started snowballing and its just gone from bad to worse...

Half the floor is saturated with spilt oil, and I barely have an inch to move in there, so decided to sort my act out, tidy up and free up some space etc

This weekend I acquired a double garage lock up in a neighbouring town, but as its under new buld flats, Im not allowed to use it for anything other than storage, which suits me fine, and also makes it reasonably cheap

So far Ive just cleared out 6 sets of tyres and rims, an old set of shelves, numerous tins of old paint, 2 volvo T5 engines, 4 mini engines and its already looking miles better.

Hopefully get the spare shell down there this week, and then can go about breaking the other mini i have rotting away in the corner, and send the spares from that down there too. (that would leave just the 2 remaining minis in ther lol!

Also bought some mint second hand workbenches and an awesome tool roll cab at a local auction on sat to make life easier (banks were selling off some gear from 2 local garages that had gone bump), and been rearranging the workshop all sunday to accomodate them, its really starting to take shape now.

Anyway, touch wood, by the end of summer i should have a nice empty (i.e. no surplus spares lying about), clean and organised garage to tackle whatever needs doing over winter.

Feeling so much better about everything now, thought Id put a post up to brag about it, lol

Well, hope everyone else had as productiive a weekend as i did.

Joe

Good stuff their Joe!

There's nothing worse than working in a space the size of a nats nad, or not being able to find something!

Was a good find with the lock up, seeing as they seem to be difficult to get hold of at a decent rate!

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

I've got a double garage, 2 sheds and a fairly big cellar and I can't move in any of them!

The more time I spend tidying it up, the more crap I seem to accumulate. My work bench generally stays clear for a week maybe 2 at a time, then it's crap everywhere again....

I know what you mean. We used to have a workshop full of old broken bits we would never re-use. Each time we moved we got better at keeping things tidy - I think the current one is the best and generally a much nicer place to work in

well, almost done, been moving tonnes of crap down to storage (more than i never even knew i had!), stripped and took the blue mini away, fitted spot on in the back fo the transit!

before:

now:

got the compressor up ontop to free up some more floor space (i seriously think i now have a hernia btw):

replaced the old sink, and finally gave it a lick of paint today:

just got to put a final top coat on and put the gutters back up and then i can get back to the never ending repairs on the daily drives!

miles better, now need a beer bath and bed!
