Fucking DVLA!!!!!!

My tax is up at the end of the month, and my insurance is due on the 29th of this month......

I get the renewal for taxing online through and start to proceed, but it gets rejected on the basis that my insurance is due to expire.

What a load of bollox, I have already set up a new insurance policy to take over on the 29th, but by then it would be to late to get the disk through, thus leaving me to risk a fine for none display of a valid tax disk.

Now i have to walk to town, stand in a queue full of piss smelling coffin dodgers, all because the fucking DVLA are too stupid to take into account certain circumstances.

When did you set up the new insurance policy?

It sometimes takes a couple of days to register on the database, particularly if you insure with halfwits like Flux.

It works both ways - I taxed one of my vehicles online when the MOT expired 3 days after the tax disc started. Their computer just looks for insurance and MOT on the 1st of the month.

As Paul says, wait a few days and try again, or phone up the insurance company and ask them to confirm they have submitted the details to the DVLC computer.

The DVLA are shit. Full stop.

The DVLA give you five days now to display your new disc once you've paid for it. Hopefully you can renew online on the 31st?

Always tax mine at the post office, so long as the mot and insurance are valid for the day I tax it the ladies at my post office dont bat an eye

I taxed the mini on line and only had a few days mot left (after the tax was due) so again it can work both ways
