it's official. they are a bunch of gays! they are the only tyre place i know, that dont fit tyres! tossers!!!!!

The one in Aberdeen does! But wait for it...................................they charge an hours labour + vat per tyre. Valve and balance are extras.......bargain or what? |

minimadmotorman's brother has a garage and does the van's tyres for us. unfortunatly his tyre machine doesn't work with 12" rims On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

My local independant said pretty much the same - they will do it for cash, but no invoice, no trace back to them as their insurance doesn't cover tyres they haven't supplied.

I've come very close a couple of times to buying my own tyre machine for this reason, however the local place here will change tyres over and take them on and off rims for a reasonable enough sum.

Few hundred quid for a s/h one, with doing various trackdays etc I reckon I could buy one and make my money back on it in about 12-18 months by not having to pay the tyre shop to do it for me.

It is possible to do them by hand, when I used to race class 1 autograss I quite often manually changed tyres over with nothing more than a hammer and bolster, and two tyre levers. Hard work mind you!

My local supertyres bought a brand spanking new machine to fit tyres to custom rims they get coming through their, door they are more than happy to fit tyres you bring in. Own the day

I called them this afternoon in despiration as I needed a couple of tyres for the Audi - told me the ones i want are no longer available but has something similar for £168 each. Then tells me without we saying a thing that they can drop the price to £132 each.

I have had a lot of bad experiences with kwik fit and the larger franchises so now I stick to small independants. However I have found the secret to getting a deal at kwik fit. A nice blonde dollybird at work drove around on a flat and damaged her wheel so she asked me to sort it out. By taking her with me to kwik fit, they beat the wheel into shape, fitted the old tyre back on balanced with a new valve for a fiver. It works for an MOT too, make a late apointment, get a nice lass to drive your car in and it's an instant pass! On 7th Nov, 2008 Nic said:

! At the time there were only two makes that did that size continental was the other choice. Guess who I go to for all my tyres. Tyre dealers are con artists because most dont bother with a little research they rip us off.
