wow been away for a while and this board has really come on a fair bit so well done Ian

Right as I have been reading all the posts from my time away (new house new job etc etc) and something has sort of hit home. The plan was to go the t3 route with the bulk head box etc etc however the more people talk about the T2 option. I belive turbo dave and variouse others have tried it?

Anyhow I am now finaly at the point where i can actualy start my turbo install engine is more or less ready to come out and im looking at the bulkhead. Do i cut it and have the box preffesionaly welded in or do i bottle it and go the nice mirarge motorsport manifold T2 route.

All i can think of reasons not to do the latter is the price of the manifold and t2 which i dont have and two I know very little about the t2 install. I.e what changes of equipment are required i.e boost control etc. All this puzzles me as to be honest im not that knowleagable up on engines hence im undertaking the install and fitment of the standard tubo engine before going the modified route. So if anyone could guide me along the main difference's between the two that that would be really helpfull. Oh and the car the engine is going in will be a track day toy if that helps.

I can't reccomend a T2 enough. I've also had the 'pleasure' of driving a std mg metro turbo yesterday, and boy does the T3 suck (or should that be blow?). I would never own a turbo mini with a T3 again. I think Jimster will also say the same.

As regards the mirage kit, it is very nice, but a lot of money. I believe it still needs a fair amount of work to mount the actuator aswell...

Your shout, but you're looking at a ton fifty for a decent T2 from a 5GT, so that's 500 quid... wow!

Hmm that the catch 22 situation. Hmm probably go the t3 route then. It would be nice to meet at some point dave as i am round the stockport area quite oftern.

Anyhow think the ?500 has made my mind up. Btw how did you manage the under crown cooling listed on yours and Jimsters engine specs?

Cheers for the help as always Dave

Lordyman, send us an email and i'll send u one back with my mobile number so ya can call us when you are in the area...

Undercrown cooling is seen here

Ford Zetec 2.0 oil spray jets.

Can't understand why more people aren't interested in them really - they do make a difference! Why else are they fitted to every Turbodiesel engine, and every modern 'serious' turbocharged petrol engine... Even my Supercharged Vaux engine will have undercrown coling in the next project...
