Hi all, I have now covered 340 miles, and have changed the jet in the wastegate, but now the clutch is starting to slip when the boost kicks in*oh well* I have a CP2084-41 rally/race AP racing plate in,
and left the flywheel, as it is the one JANSPEED put in, ¨so it must be the clutch cover thats not up to the job*frown* what can you turbo guys recommend??? orange or grey?? as I really dont want to put one of these sintered plates in---I want the car to be drivable, and those sintered plates are not nice in town traffic, I have also seen a diaphram/cover called dubbel grey, at Avonbar, is that ewen better for turbo?? or what?? hope to get some good advice from you turbo driverz8-)

I'd fit a grey cover. The single grey will be fine for most, the double grey's only needed if you're pushing really big torque figures.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

as phil says but ........... also have 1.5mm machined off the 3 lugs on the back plate to give extra! clamping load as per turbo daves modd advice

you should be fine then

well now I have ordered a new AP racing center plate, and a grey pressure plate, hope this is up to the job then ?? you have to remember my car is very heavy with all the WP stuff inside??
is there a chance that you (Phil) could take your cover off and check the plate on your JS ?? as it most likely is the original still sitting there8-) and do yourself a favor --- get that nice engine in a car:) you cannot belive how nice and quiet this setup is *smiley* read the Vizard bible again, all he writes about this setup is 100% spot on8-)

now thats a fine sounding yellow beast in those vids8-) I will see if I can get someone with a camera with me one day? but dont expect to hear much--its really nice and quiet inside, if I roll down RH side window, and drive with something on my RH side, that will throw back the sound -- thats a WHOLE different thing, as you then can hear the turbo whine when pressure builts up, and it goes to work:)

I take it the JS setup has a pre-verto setup then? Didn't know that.

Hi guys, thought I would update this old hread.

I had visitors over from UK last summer, so I finally pulled myself together, and got it out of the hybernation its been in since 2009, in order to fix all the small issues.

Thanks for your advice, I did as you suggested = Grey cover, and had the back plate lugs machined.

But I also found out why it was slipping = the fly wheel were shaped like a bowl,
so I had the surface machined, on both parts.

I could now take my guests from England out for a drive, without any clutch slip *happy*
