Well folks, I have just come back from the scrapyard to find that some bastard has nicked my 2 MG Metro heads I had my eyes on.

So, I had a look at some of the others and they looked to have been skimmed.

Anyway, I heard that the Austin America was fitted with a 12G1316 head which is the Supercharger/Turbomans holy grail.

Does this have an English pseudonym? There are a bunch of weird 1300 Austins in someones yard near me. Might be lucky....

Stu, are you sure about that? It's my understanding that the 12G1316 is simply a 1275 with smog ports (and I can confirm the smog ports, as I have two of the heads). If you really want one, I could sell you one of mine. Of course, shipping would be a mint, but not as much as shipping from there to here!

Forgotten more than most ever know

1316 heads are supposed to have thicker decks than normal 940 heads of same period. Port vs. chambers are pretty much the same.

I'll have to have a look at that......

Am I right in thinking that the 1316 was used without smog ports (rarely). I am aware of the deck thickness which is what I was after.

I would like to see one but probably dont have the cash or inclination to bother getting one.
