Where abouts do 13's rub?

I was under the impression that it was pretty easy to run out of room between the shock and tyre, (my 10's did rub). but my 7x13's have loads of room there, at least 35mm on the back and more on the front,

this sugests that 7x 13's with a large positive offset could be used as long as you didn't mind sacrificing steering lock.

They rub on the a-panel/back of the arch on mine.

It's pretty low and only really happens on full lock over bumps.

I cut about an inch off all the way round on the front end so it clears nicely.

I fitted a 7x13 wheel on the front of my standard clubby estate yesterday, and it didnt touch anyware, and it went lock to lock fine.

Which i was quite surprised at.

35mm is NOT a lot. That's too little.

i think he means clearace between the shock and the back of the tyre, not vertical clearance into which the wheel will travel under load/impact.
