A SERIES ENGINE AND AN A+BOX??

hi all
I've got an 1100 a series engine and an a+plus straight cut close ratio gearbox will these go together ?? any mods required??

You will need the A+ transfer housing to go with the gearbox because the middle of the drop gears has a larger shaft (hence larger bearing hole in the gearbox casing) which, in turn, means you need the full set of A+ drop gears.

If you want to use an A housing, there is a sleeved conversion bearing for the middle drop gear where it goes in the A+ gearbox (look in MiniSpares catalogue) but some people have reported problems with them coming loose.

Can't think of any other issues but I'm sure someone else will......

OK,

Just remember the A+ transfer housings are also slightly different between small bore and 1275 (one has the breather, one doesn't) and you can't swap primary gears (the top one of the three) between small bore and 1275 as the bush size is different.

So make sure you pick your parts from your other engines to match what you are doing.

thankfully i only have small bore engines!! and most of them are A+ So thats all good. Also I've just modified a small bore A+ transfer casing to take the breather so its all good
