Are they paired to the gearbox or can you just transfer them over?

Mine has snapped on the daily drive today so ideally I'd just like to swap it with a spare I have rather than swapping a box.

you can swap them from amother box if you wish.
you still have to shim up up correctly

they are matched to the gearbox, but people have got away with swaping them.

for a std lump I would be tempted to try one on and see is there is a ridge in the bearing holes, you might just get lucky.

Find a different casing or be prepared for spun diff bearings/leakages.
