Hi lads,
I'm back!
Finally about to start another Turbo Mini project after the Adidas van was found to consist of no solid metal whatsoever.
This is just going to be a nice Mini with a standard Metro turbo engine, nice paint and interior to be a daily runaround I can be proud of.
Anyway I digress.
The Turbo engine I have appears to be in fantastic condition with everything nice and shiny. However I still dismantled it to make sure there weren't any nasty surprises lurking about.
Now I've come to put it back together.
I was looking for gaskets on Avonbars website and I'm slightly confused.
Basiclly the gaskets page lists two different complete sets of engine gaskets,at different prices, without specifying what each contains. One is labeled plain 1275 A+ while the other is labeled as "Engine Conversion 1275A+".
Does anyone know whats the difference and if these are the right gaskets for me? Also will these sets contain every single gasket needed or will I still need to buy additional sets/gaskets?
Finally is it a good idea to remove the crank, rods and pistons and slap on all new bearings/rings and give the bores a light hone? Bearing in mind this is going to be a road motor on a shoestring budget and a tight timescale.Everything seems to move freely and easily, with no binding or funny noises.
Cheers in advance and sorry this turned out a bit long winded.
Tom
