First off I'm new round these parts so "Hi!" *smiley* I'm currently driving a 1994 Mini Tahiti 1275 carb. I've been thinking for a while about walking the turbo path, but the question is: What work is involved in converting my 1275 (runs sweet and pretty low mileage) into turbo form. What parts would I need?? And would it be worth it??

I know more power could be gained from an original turbo lump but they are all getting on a bit and have seen plenty action, I know my engine is sound. I'm not after big big power, just a bit more than now with that lovely turbo sound!!

Any info would be cool! *smiley*

Hi, I thought that it would a frequently asked subject so searched before hand. I could only find the one post and to be honest it wasn't overly helpful. I think it's something to do with the way I'm viewing the site, when I go to look futher back than a month and go onto a second page of an area obviously most of the topics are over a month old so I click i different time length and that just takes me back to the original page I was on, and so on.

hi matt, i have had that problem with the page thing before, id tell ya how to get round it buty i aint figured it out ma self, lol. well im pretty new to the turbo scene aswell but from what ive figured out you need to lower the compression rate with a spacer plater between the head n block. u need a carburreta n turbo(obviously), electronic fuel pump, 8mm interior diameter fuel lines(both inlet n return), modified tank and a bulk head box. if theres anything else ive missed then im sure one of the others will correct me. your cheapest bet is to do wot im doing, look out for a complete metro turbo then you have a rolling spares shell!! hope it helps
si.

it may b small but it purfectly formed

spacer plate .... errrm

While the head is off get a local machine shop to get some cc's out of the combustion chamber. This is MUCH better than spacer plates + no messing about with rocker geometry etc
