Evening all,

Well this is my new daily driver, i say new had it just over a month, its all taxed and mot'd.... bargain!

Body wise its solid. Apart from the fact it needs a new rear valance, but thats it! not bad for a 31 year old mota!

Plans are to fit the arches i brought off robert, a paint job, which im doing this week, slap on some cooper s brakes to get rid of the dodgy drums lol, going to pop in some nice comfy recaro seats for the long journey's.

Oh and i'll also be saving for some spectrums (if i can get them) or force racing wheels........

Then once its MOT'd and taxed in august, the turbo charging will begin.

Can't decie whether to do a 1098 turbo, or 1293? Decisions Decisions.

Not going to be some high powered monster like some of you have... more of wanting that little extra power for some fun now and again.... id be happy with around 120bhp!

The roof after i gave it a polish up! Not too shabby.

And with one arch modified slightly and lined up, with the old surfboards on the roof.... (hence my old username being mini_SURFari lol)

Well this morning i decided to go through it, see what bodywork needed doing before i gave it a lick of paint....

and all i found was these few pin holes on the door step... so i cut it out and put a plate in their.

Slipped with the bastard grinder as well!

To be fair, it would have been best to replace the door step (would look a little better), but as its a daily driver im not trying to get it mint..... and after i've finished restoring my mk1, which is ment to be a concours car, this will be getting fully restored, so aslong it make it to next years MOT, ill be happy.

Was wearing gloves Shane, made a mess of those lol.

I always where gloves and goggles when using a grinder, as its one of those tools that can seriously mess you up.

i've had a heathy respect for grinders ever since i nearly cut my cock off!

it happened when oi was cutting through an old subframe, the ginder grabbed flipped 360 in the air and took a bit out of the back of my hand, then fell onto my leg and wound itself up in my jeans at the top of my thigh and stalled.

another couple of inches and i would have been singing soprano...

Hahaha, no, the cut started just behind the glove, and pushed forward at the same time as chewing it up.

Has scabbed up now, and actually not as bad as i looks in the picture.

Small Update.

Rubbed down the seam strips, and primed them.

And i went and brought a new rear lense, as one of the little shits round where i live smashed one with a football.

Tomorow i shall be rubbing down and priming both doors and the bonnet!

Been a while since i last updated.

Got back off my Hols yesterday, decided to have a poke around the mini as its mot was due wednesday... a last little check over.

The i discovered it had an over sill on the drivers side, which had startd to rot, but i couldnt do anything last night as it was getting late and its sat on the drive way.

So today i got up early and decided to remove it and see how bad it really was. 'Shitty Death' were my words to what i discovered, with the over sill off, there was bugger all left of the original sill, so i cut that off. The inner sill is in a hell of a state aswell.

Also it turns out that in a previous life, it has had an inner sill welded to the inner sill on the inside, and a front floor pan welded over the top of the original.

Shite i thought!

I decided to take a trip to somerford minis, and have a chat with them, was there for about two hour, deciding what the best plan was, whether to cut the rot and plate it etc or fit total new panels.

But i like to do things properly, and once.

So after along chat i came away with a inner sill outer sill, and half a floor pan already welded up.

I was in the workshops and they showed me exactly how to do it as they had just finished welding the same panel (only for a saloon) into a mk1.

A big thanks goes to them for being such a great help!

So i got home and jacked the car up, and started to strip out the interior. Oh and i canceled my MOT.

So tomorow i need to mark out my cutting lines, remove the door and weld a brace bar between the door frame.

Well i got some more done, finished stripping the interior.

Then welded in a brace bar between the door frame.

Then i started the measuring and cutting etc nearly got most of it cut out, just got to do the area in the front footwell tomorow.

Oh and i welded a plate over the jacking point in the sill, so it cant be used.
