bit of a pointless bet unless the engines are all the same spec bar the heads, also $1000 hardly covers a plane ticket let alone shipping or hotel, its easy to lay down a bet when its clear its not anyones interest to go there

interesting how they keep under quoting the power/torque figures from a KAD head
have seen dyno figures from 1990's [ KAD and Swifty ]
power figures in the 160-180 hp and 120-130ft lb from 1380cc engines with different cams

Its good to see the other side of the story as well. Ive been following the thread originally on ausmini. Looks like a good head. Are there any other heads that are similar? Other than the KAD heads?

Point him at our website dyno curves - I'll bet he can't match the torque "spread" of our little 16v demo car - after all its area under the curve that matters - not big numbers

This is the stuff that really, really! Cheese me off about Engine tuners around the world.
This type of Bull Shit is pub talk nothing more. Graham is a nice guy and has had some good results in the pasts and gods knows has some experience but, spouting out useless clams like this puts him in the same bracket as the guys on E-Bay claming 7 bazillion horse power form a 1380.

This crap of Bring on the Poms, Like we are all over here dishing him or what not. If he really wants to show off and "PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS" put the car with this head on the boat come to Avon and go up the strip.

Any drag strip in fact. Pick a day, any day. Run at least 4 times, pick your best two times. Post the results of the 1/8th and 1/4 times and trap speeds.

Even post up the weigth of the car if you give a flying fuck. Fact is - a 1/4 mile drag strip run shows off the usable potential of any car (or engine), and even gearing and weight can be adjudged and adjusted, along with the 60-ft time, to give a value that can be understood and compared to the world over.

Reason I say to pick two best runs of the day, is the validate that whilst you were still 100ft from the finish line that a bird or a fag packet didn't break the beam, giving a single, one-off ridiculously quick time.


I recall that red roof-chopped mini that allegedly did a 12-second 1/4 or soemt like according to miniworld. MadMatt told us a few years ago that it was actually closer to the low 14's than 12...

I recall Carl Austin disagreeing politely (!) with Ian Johnson when he got something like a 137mph trap speed several years ago.
