If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Got a sandwich plate fitted for the oil temp sensor. was rather hoping I would not have to drill it more.

I have one of the ones in the link above, they have 4 1/8 NPT holes in them.

I Tig'd a 20 mm dia ali bar about an inch long to the top of the filter head then drilled a hole through this straight through into the filtered oil delivery chamber of the filter head.

Then tapped the hole to take the thread of a standard male/male adaptor from Merlin with a copper washer underneath.

Decided to weld the little bypass valve closed. This lives just down the throat of the filter head delivery port if you view down it. In standard operation, this bugger opens with high filter differential pressure to allow unfiltered oil into the block and I didnt want that happening on mine.

Lastly connected a hose with a female swivel onto the male adapter and joined this to the turbo. Originally used a banjo elbow from the oil filter head but changed this in light of advice on TM to a male/male adapter and copper washer.

Bob is your mothers brother, as they say.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.
