So I needed a new turbo/manifold flange gasket and some new studs (as I sheared a couple getting them out) and Avonbar want far too much for the gasket and no longer list the studs.....

Knowing the fitment is the same as my Cossie, I did a search on eBay and came up with Cossie gasket/stud/nut kits at a reasonable price.

A little suspicious as the seller was trading the same kit under two different user IDs but ordered anyway.

Instead of M10 studs, I received 3/8 UNC (one end) 3/8 UNF (the other).

I emailed him pointing out they should be M10, he said they were in fact correct !!!. I offered to email him a photo of a real M10 stud/nut on a real T3 on a real Cosworth AND a copy of p442 of the genuine Ford worshop manual listing them as M10.

His answer.... "They don't have to be genuine Ford and they'll be alright, I fitted them to my brother's Cossie and I've sold 500 sets...."

I wonder if he, and those 500 people, work on their own brakes too ???

If so, I hope I never meet them coming the other way.

Despite submitting a "Report" to eBay and a "claim" to Paypal, he's been back to me saying that as the 3/8 UNC stud screws into the M10 hole it must be OK......

BAC twice over and more.....

I've actually been very polite back, suggesting he reads a few thread tables or engineering books to understand the difference...

I may be going soft in my old age.

Be soft to see what happens with the ebay report, and the paypal claim... or the arse hole will then have ammunition against you if you know what i mean.

That's why I was polite - I seem to be having lots of people telling me to screw the wrong threads into holes at the moment..... Avonbar being the latest....

Hope your claim goes OK. I have been disappointed with Paypal on a recent claim and lost £35. I still cant understand why.
