What do i need to do to turbo my mini?

:$

*tongue*

hey, just a quick one since Top Gear is about to start. i met a few of you guys at the Showdown (i've just got back home myself), and saw even more of you guys... gotta say, you're all a top bunch and have some pretty wicked cars!

I have the beige mini w/brown roof and the XE engine in it, y'all told me to sign up here... and since i've now got some more plans for more power i figured here would be a good place to start - oh and i hear there's often some banter here too!

Anyhow, gotta dash now, will be back in an hour to have a look around the forum and hopefully learn a few things too!

cheers,

Joel.

Hey there joel. I've seen your mini somewhere (can't remember where) and it is the bollocks. I'm currently building a c20xe mini for the track/hillclimb. I'm also building a A series turbo for a road car. You'll find loads of info on here and the banter is top. Have fun chief. *happy*

Welcome mate, first rule of Turbominis, make sure your bonnet is strapped down!!!

Your car looks great by the way, hope it wasn't too damaged.

I think someone has posted a pic of your car on here before, if it is yours it's very good looking!

thanks for the welcome!!

i think some pics of my car have been posted on here before, i'll put a few in the members cars section later as well.

and yeah... need to make sure the bonnet is strapped down next time. luckily no damage to the car, but the bonnet took a beating! Although there was a couple cracks in it that i'd been meaning to sort out and i was never happy with how it fitted, so i guess this is just the kick up the backside i needed!

thanks again though peeps, look forward to making good use (read: shamelessly whoring) your fine looking forum!

Hey Joel, good to see you on here, it's a great forum.

We'll have to catch up next time I'm down in plymouth.

Are you thinking of turbo-ing the XE now perchance? is ben still thinking of a turbo'd C16?

thanks guys, yeah Prawn, definately need a catch up and i wanna see the mini with the Miglia's on now!

...and yeah, being at the showdown has made me want to keep the car and continue the project a little further in a quest for more speed. So yup, dont tell anyone, but i'm thinking of going turbo - either above the gearbox or remote under the boot. Its early days yet, this is the learning/saving stage now!

Is this of any use:

Vauxhall, but not XE ?

thanks for the link, i've been following Matt's build over on the 16v forum (where i'm a prolific poster! *tongue*)

i'll be looking at taking a similar route.

i'm currently runnin MS and bike throttle bodies. Ideally i'd like to keep them, but not found much info regarding boosting through ITBs :S
