Seems to me, my car has a running problem at 5000rpm. I changed plugs, coil pack, checked the omex, checked the map sensor, It seems it just missfires at 5000 rpm and doesn't want to rev past it, load or no load. So i think its unrelated to boost (no load still does the same) but being a novice at fault finding i'm not really sure what to start with.

its got spark, fuel etc...i'm confused.

I'd be looking at your crank sensor, is the gap correct? Also is your pulley true, and not running on the piss.

loosing its signal from the crank sensor? can you check on your ecu? rev limiter set wrong? (easy i know but may as well ask)

what state are the plugs in?

my next guess would be to check the voltage at the ecu and coil pack while the engine is missing, Also check the ecu earth is good.

If all thats good I'ld check the coil pack.

I assume the fueling is ok?

funny you should say about the plugs, 2 and 3 were a little wet compared to 1 and 4, i was thinking because its wasted spark could it be a coil problem? i believe 2 and 3 are fired togeather?

AFR when this happens?

Hard and soft cut limiters set higher than 5000rpm?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I use the AEM gauge, I don't recomend it to be honest, the 5v output does not relate to the display, it's about .5 ratio out.

Try vwspeedshop i've been looking and they are the cheapest place i can find in the uk for the innovate stuff. £199 for a lc-1 wideband with sensor and guage.

no, I need to send it back to AEM, but there customer service is not the best. I've just altered my target AFR to compensite, I've checked it with others so I'm confident I'm not going to cause any damage.
