I guess if your hanging doors your measuring out for the hinges.... in which case cant you just use a 12inch rule lol?

Yes, in theory, but I have four folding doors to hang, so 12 hinges in total, plus lots of other measuring to make sure everything is straight. Would have been prone to errors using a 12" rule. there is no reason whatsoever to need any measuring deivice when hanging a door, top hinge is 2x hinge length down form top of door and bottom hinge is 3x length up from bottom,midd hange is guessed,lol.
