I've been following David Vizards homemade flow bench guide and was planning on using a homemade manometer, but i was thinking would it be possible to use a standard production airflow meter ?(i have subaru one kicking around). wire up a power supply and connect a multimeter for the read out, then calibrate it by measuring the pressure drop. would it be sensitive enough? Any input would be gladly recieved. 1972 998 TURBO SLEEPER |

I suspect it'd be easier to use a 'flapper type' airflow meter than a 'hot wire' type... On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

both give a 0-5v output w.r.t flow. as for sensitive enough, no idea, but if you find its not sensitive enough, reduce the orifice size or fit an air flow meter from a smaller engine car :) even then no idea if it would be sensitive enough. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

thing is though, given you can make a manometer with some clear tube and a bit of wood, why reinvent the wheel? turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

good point, i was just thinking that if i can get good sensitivity i could get a more accurate result. 1972 998 TURBO SLEEPER |
