are a bunch of f**king idiots. just thought i would check my sorn for my mini as i have had no reminders or anything through for it for a while, the sorn ran out 30/06/09, i have just re-newed my sorn today which after 45 mins of phone calls tell me it goes back to the 1st of july, so i "maynot" need to pay the fine but its highly likely i have to. when you have more than one car it gets abit difficult to keep up to date with all the information sorn ect that goes with it imo.

I left left mine un sorned for about 18 monthes. sorned online and never got a fine.... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

not to be the sensible twat but its your responsibility to check the paperwork is in order not the DVLA they dont have to remind you, it is your bad iam affraid bro. at least you will know for next time buddy

I guess for me its simple as I only have two cars. So I just have to remember if either are Sorn or not Sorn, simple as.

i sorned my smart a day after it ran out and the friendly automated system told me i may recive a fine... it then asked me if i still wanted to declare the car sorn? hey sent me the new logbook throught a month before the tax ran out but not a peep of a tax reminder

paul, write to them and tell the rats, didnt you get my sorn application on 15/6/09 in the post ? ........ you must have not, thats why you are on my case.

5 cars 3 bikes never missed a sorn. But I will say this I have sorned a car nearly 50 days after the last sorn ran out and nevre recieved a fine. If done useing the reminder form it is automatically back dated so everything runs Consecutively, confirmed by the nice letter from DVLA. The whole thing must be automated, its the only reason I can think of as to why this happens. Own the day

The inconsistency of the above tales just underlines how inefficient DVLA are-they dont know their arse from their elbow one day and are terriers with their teeth into you next day.Part of the problem is that staff are given no latitude to exercise initiative even if they have more than two brain cells to rub together. |
