Very off topic but I was wandering if anyone in Liverpool could see if if Pete Mathews Cycles is still in business, his address is:

58 Lower Breck Road, Liverpool, Merseyside L6 4BZ

And if so can you find out what his phone number is? the only number I can find on the net just goes to a recording telling me that the number is no longer valid.

Cheers

Rob

PS. It's nothing bad, it's just that I'm after some custom wheels and he's the best.

I think I remember the chap, perhaps. I enquired about a fancy spoke job on some 20" rims back in my racing days *wink*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Thanks Carl, I really appreciate you going round there, I'm guess the shops closed down. Shame, Pete Mathews had a good reputation.

Plenty of references to him on Google though - maybe try ringing as he may just have closed the shop but be still trading?
The number I found was 0151 263 1116

That's the same number I've got and it just goes to a recorded message, saying that the number is no longer available.

I hope he's still trading as I've just sent him a cheque for some wheels.

I enquired about a front wheel similar to this http://www.instructables.com/id/Twisted-Sp...ing---flowers!/ with some one in liverpool. First I had seen that lacing pattern was in Liverpool, up by the 'Edge Lane' skate park, must have been 1990 or there abouts, and the lad worked at the bike shop where it he had it done. It may or may not have been this chap, but from what I have seen this Pete Matthews builds wheels for some top rideds in several different aspects of cycling.

I'll bet they aint going to be cheap are they?
