I think I remember the chap, perhaps. I enquired about a fancy spoke job on some 20" rims back in my racing days On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

did go on sat to see and at that address there is defo no cycle shop. but its still listed in the yellow pages and on some of the maps it looks like it could be just off that road, or round the back. theres also a breck road which my missus seems to fink it could be on that. ill try and go for another mooch but its a scarey place lol no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

Thanks Carl, I really appreciate you going round there, I'm guess the shops closed down. Shame, Pete Mathews had a good reputation. Edited by Rob H on 28th Jul, 2009. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

Plenty of references to him on Google though - maybe try ringing as he may just have closed the shop but be still trading?

That's the same number I've got and it just goes to a recorded message, saying that the number is no longer available. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

I hope he's still trading as I've just sent him a cheque for some wheels. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

I enquired about a front wheel similar to this http://www.instructables.com/id/Twisted-Sp...ing---flowers!/ with some one in liverpool. First I had seen that lacing pattern was in Liverpool, up by the 'Edge Lane' skate park, must have been 1990 or there abouts, and the lad worked at the bike shop where it he had it done. It may or may not have been this chap, but from what I have seen this Pete Matthews builds wheels for some top rideds in several different aspects of cycling.
