Anyone done a change from a 1.3i to the Metro Turbo and Has an idea what there on about?????

What it is people keep telling me how to wire the engine and it can't be done with the eletrics i've got well not the way i'm being told! DAVE ! I need to know what wires you need out of the ecu socket? and if any can tell off the to of there head it'll be great or if not has anyone got a wireing diagram they can show me ??

Or am i off to get the ?25 hour lads out

Seems sound advice to me.

The ignition circuit is the same as any other mini that uses a dizzy, so the haynes manual will show you all the connections.

The fuel pump wiring is in the how to section.

Zeemax... Where abouts in the country are you?

Dude its pretty simple, get a voltage tester and check ure coil and module has the power to it. If they do then there is a fault with one of them. If not get power to them and it will work.

Its how i have wired my engine up, it works, do as dave says and gibbo has said in the post above

its not that simple lads?? If you knew the half of it you would be crying for me! I've been on the phone to everyone avonbar, minispeed, minimine, etc I was going to take my car down to mini mine and let them do it but they said they won't just it. Local eletric experts won't touch it!! Nightmere comes to mind!! I wish it was as easy as joining a couple of wires!! I'm not thick lads you can't do it with the ecu i have and i think i need another dizzy!! and the thing is i need the ecu cause my cars got an immobiliser on it. HATEING MY LIFE! I wish i'd looked into this closer instead of just going for it! Running out of opions lads! Going rip all the eletrics out of my standard one litre tomorrow and try running her on that!

Where and why does the ecu come into it??

If it is a normal turbo lump with conventional elecy ignition and a dizzy why not just put a new loom in it from a not injection mini. They seem daunting but they are not that bad.

i wasn't sure if you can buy the whole lot and if you can hows it come easy to wire?? the ecu comes into cos my immobilsers run though it and i haven't got a clue what wire that is do you?? Yeah good idea with the conventonal last opion

you immobiliser is irrelivent i think to what your trying to do.
fuel pump== dissconnect existing wires and run new ones to your pump live and earth. live from 2nd persition of your ignition switch and id advise an inertia switch (see how 2 section).
engine == supply a live to your coil + side and plug your dizzy into your coil.
make sure your engines git a good earth
if you can get your starter to crank this should be enough to satrt your car and should bypass your immobilizer.

as i suggested in another post and giallofly has just said to you and i rekon it would be easiest for the future too is get a complete car loom go for one like a 93 carb model as this is perfect for the job and youll just need to add wires for your fuel pump

and youll get a good price for all your injection gear

minime i've got power i just no spark! I could get the fuel pump running not a problem it's the fact i haven't got a spark and its pissing me off has anyone done the conversion from a 1.3i to Turbo???

The chances are "no" Mr Zeemax no power!!

Isolate the imboliser and just get the thing running, my ingition circuit in my turbo min is totally seperate to the rest of the loom for simplicity any reliability.

Think about it mate,

if you wire the dizzy and coil correctly from a switched live then it will work. The imobilizer has nothing to do with it.

Have you got power at the coil when in position 2 on the key?

Have you got power at the coil when cranking the engine?

Grab a multimeter and get checking, and forget about it being impossible cos it ain't!

if its wired very basically as described and components are good working order it will work

the imobilizer has nothing to do with it! the ecu now is a redundant box

start with the very basics to get the car running and work up from there

Do you realize the car will not pass an emmisions test now? or MOT, injection cars have to pass strict emmisions compared with carb fed cars

It will if he gets a letter for BMH saying how old the engine is...

As the test is engine age related not car

do you know weather the engine runs or not? before you had it?

just for one minute forget about your injection ecu, immobiliser.all your engine needs is a 12v supply to your coil and a good engine earth to run, try a wire straight from your battery to get it running iff need be watch you dont get a shock though.
if this dont work maybe faulty module, dizzy cap or something take the cap off and check dizzy turns when engine does etc

there's a bloke on minifinity selling a brand new 1275GT wiring loom, i'd say its just what you need!

I have just got my turbo motor running and it is not even in the car I just ran a couple of wires to the coil and dizy,no ecu or immobiliser should stop the job.

as everyone on here has already said, run new wires to the fuel pump, new wires to the coil and dizzy, and (if need be) run a new wire to the starter to bypass the imobaliser. it WILL run provided your coil and dizzy are ok. that done hack out all the bits of injection loom you dont need. or tuck it away somewhere incase you convert back.
