Just a quicky, to help me get my money back............

our car was in the garage to have an emergency repair (£190 worth of work).

However the muppet's didn't reconnect my fan- causing the car to overheat on the M25 (in an 1 hour traffic jam suprise suprise). They cable tied the fan connector to the car body (which i couldn't see on the hard shoulder)!

Luckily i managed to get the car home safely, using hills and turning the engine of regually. However, if my missus had been driving she would have just carried on until the car stopped.......

So hypothetically speaking, what damage could be done to an engine, as a result of it overheating.

Be as picky as you can! i want this 'AA approved' garage to cry!!

ta all, i will put up the full story including the other 'mistakes' in a 'compnies to avoid' post

Most obvious one would be head gasket, Wapred head.

Sensors can go down, det/pre-ignition can occur.

If you really do want to be picky there is plenty of possible faults that you could link to an overheat.

i had got about as far as the head and headgasket.
I was thinking of all the silly little things like... water pump, other gaskets, whether the coolent system will need to be flushed. a no expense overhall provided by the "yellow" breakdown company lol

Severe overheat will cause the piston rings to loose tension and increase blowby

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
