Hi all.
Edited by Sir Yun on 30th Jul, 2009. That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

I'm going to be putting air ducts in my diffuser to get air into my boot mounted radiator.

A number of the guys with Starlet conversions run a radiator in the boot floor. An electric fan sucks the air from under the car & out through holes in the boot lid. On 24th Dec, 2008 Nic said:

Then get a bodykit around the car and create low pressure under the car. Suck the car onto the road lol. In boost we trust |

Obviously if space is short then the chargcooler with radiators in the back is the obvious route and has been done by many in different cars.

I think the post is confusing, and a few people have got the wrong end of the stick.

I would suggest using a thinner rad with a bigger surface area rather than the small thick heter matrix. Use an airconditioner condenser, either automotive or household type. Cheap, light, the right size & shape, usually aluminium alloy. On 24th Dec, 2008 Nic said:

I have been trying to think of a worse place to put an air intake than where you suggest. So far you win. Perhaps under the drivers seat would be worse, but at least it would be dry.

I think the post is confusing, and a few people have got the wrong end of the stick. my take is that the air-intake proposed is for cooling to the heater matrix in the boot, rather than the fresh air for the engine. The mention of a plenum in the boot also seem erroneous. . yep.. but rather than sticking the radiator in the boot i was thinking of a plenum with the rad in it fitted inside the rear subframe. the idea that you can sort of ''ram air'' the lot. i will look into AC condensers.. thanx for the heads up. That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

I think its more meant to mean a cowling around the radiator to ensure the full flow from the intake goes through the rad?

I thought a plenum was the opposite of a vacuum. Not really. A vacuum is a volume free of matter. A plenum is just a volume of above atmospheric pressure. The opposite of a vacum would be a volume which contains all matter. *head explodes* On 12th Nov, 2009 Paul S said:

As long as you're not planning on taking the air for the engine from under the car, I don't se aproblem then. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
