iv'e got a non-turbo head thats been gas flowed, large valves etc to stage 4. Can i use this head with a turbo as it hasn't got the sodium cooled valves?!

Are they critical or just a way of keeping the valves and seats slightly cooler?

Has anyone tried to use standard valves-and has it worked?

the valve sizes are 31.6 exhaust and 36.6 inlet

My compression ratio has been calculated at 8.3 : 1, and i believe the standard is 9.4 : 1 would this help to keep the running temperature down enough to use standard valves at about 10psi of boost?

Cheers.

Hiya,

A stage 4 non turbo head is rarly going to give a low enough CR... whats the chamber volume in the head.

It will probably be ok, the sodium cooled vavles are more for reliability than performance!

It might be better to run a wider seat cut on the exh valves just incase to aid heat transfer.
