Hi everyone,
I am Very New to Turboing a Mini.
How is it done? Easily or Not?
I was thinking of Turboing a Mini in a couple of years time.
All I know that I will need a Metro Turbo Engine.
also, how does it feel, I bet you suprise many people!

Just one more thing, where could it get a Turbo Kit and how much would it cost me?

Many Thanks,
Bob:cool:

If I don't say it someone else will:-

Do a search on this site and visit the how 2 section.

If you can't find the answers you want ask again.

Easy or not? It'll be a lot easier now you've found this site.

Good advice wil

Bob, take your time to have a good look round the site, it may be tiresome digging through old posts but people are likely to be more helpful if you've done some digging rather than demanding answers etc

there is loads of info on here, plus some funny stuff too to keep you entertained!

Somewhere around Swindon

collect and recondition parts first this helps the build no end

then once you have collected everything you need collect it again for when it breaks lol

its all good fun mate and the more mini turbos there are the better

Thanks everyone, I was thinking of looking round scrap yards for the engine?
Well it maybe not the best place to go, but a good place to get parts.

Thanks,
Bob

Your be lucky to find a metro turbo engine at a scrappy unfortuaty they very rarely make it there, although you could souce similar fuel pumps off some makes of cars and other bit and bobs and save your self a bit of money there. But best place without dout for getting an engine seems to be ebay if your willing to travel to collect it

hey, i'm new to turboing mini's aswell and im starting with a standard 998cc engine and building it to stand the turbo from there, im getting a 1 3/4hif blow through carbie so i can cool the engine but appart from that im not using many parts off the metro engine. I got a stronger oil and water pump + a double cam chain, i have all new bearings and i'm hoping i can get the crank hardened, new dizzy, ground cam shaft so i can get more exhaust gass's but appart from that i im not doing much else (unless anyone has some input)
using the standard 998 saved me a lot of stuffing around looking for a metro engine + the cost of a deasent metro engine (im in australia)
lol, i hope i dont sound like i no what im talking about because this is all stuff i'v just pick'd up through reaserch, im only half way through building the engine and making my manifolds.
