On my GT, I've mounted a rev counter and two gauges in front of the speedo etc. This means I cannot see the old gauges at all. I'd like to move the oil pressure lamp and ignition lamp from the original clocks, and to the new "bracket" I've made. Has anyone ver done this? Is it as easy as to find the correct two wires that goes into the multi contact, and reroute these?

I haven't got a new Haynes manual infront of me, which wires should I cut if it's this easy?

I'll get a picture up.

Yep, just cut and extend the wires.

You need a W ignition feed to one side of each lamp
NY to the other side of the ignition lamp
WN to the other side of the oil pressure lamp

Edit just in case:
W = White
NY = Brown with Yellow tracer
WN = White with Brown tracer

Excuse my ignorance, I don't like electric stuff. Obviously the lights come on when grounded.

What does light the lamps up when the ignition is turned to the first setting? They don't get grounded then?

Am I having a blonde moment?

They are grounded with the engine stationary because the alternater module is ground (through NY) until the alternator produces power and the oil pressure switch is ground (through WN) until there is oil pressure.

The key in position 1 onwards (W) just provides the 12volts hence they light up until the engine runs and the alternator produces power so takes one ground away and the oil pressure rises and takes the other away.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???
