Hi,

Im Ross,have been registered here for ages without posting very much at all so thought it was about time i introduced myself.

I bought another mini a few months ago after being away from the mini scene for about 6 years or so.This was it the day it arrived.



And this is how it looks now.



I have not long started on the bodywork (which is in an appalling state) it has loads of really bad previous repairs to deal with as well as more than its fair share of rust.I will pop up some pictures in the project section later on.

I pretty much know the spec i want as i have planned it over the past 6 years while ive been without a mini,i like the idea of the turbo so no doubt i will be picking your brains for info over the next few months.

Hi, if your anything like me, those plans will change!!

While ive been sorting the bodywork out on mine, its gone from a clean up and turbo engine, to a fully stripped and caged track day toy for the road.

And in that same time the engine plans have also changed about 8 times.....and still counting!!

Well the plan has always been stripped out with a welded in cage just to be used as a toy.

I think im exactly the same as you in the engine department though,first it was going to be a 1380,then a redtop,then for the past 6 months ive been just about set on the promotive R1 conversion.

However in the last couple of weeks ive been thinking that by the time i buy the promotive kit plus extras like a decent diff & the reverse gear kit etc,all the R1 bits and all the other small parts needed to get it up and running then i would be looking around the 6-7k mark.

Thinking that for this much i could build a nicely specced turbo motor and buy all the bits i would need to go with it,possibly with a little bit of money left over.
