Hi guys, I'm in need of some new pads for my fiesta brake setup, which uses mk2 calipers I believe:

What pads are available for these? I was looking at some XR2 pads, but I'm told these are slightly taller and won't fit, despite looking very similar!

I'd love some ferrodo ds2500's, but can't find them anywhere. When I fitted the setup 3 years ago I just used standard pads, but they're in need of replacement now, and I'm off to the ring in a few weeks, so feel the need for something a little better!

Any advice on what others are running would be great.

thanks

nick

Also very intrested in this, i run ferodo road pads now, was thinking that maybe a pad from a more "performance" ford caliper would fit (i´m ok with some grinding etc) ds 2500´s would be lovely!

I'm eventually going to upgrade to alloy 4 pots, but having just spent £600 sorting out the dailly, I can't afford much at the mo, so fast road pads in these it has to be!

a LIL fishing village on the coast - Newcastle Upon Tyne

just go online and get some comp pads for them, i always throught that the fezzy route was done with Mk1 callipers but the banjo appeasr to be in the wrong position for a mk1 calliper. there are still many of these about so i am sure there are uprated pads.

mk1 or 2 calipers work just fine, as you said, the hose take off is in a different location on the mk2 caliper.

I've been told that xr2 pads are 151mm high and the rest are 141mm. so XR2 pads won't fit. Most in that link claim to be for XR2's, but these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...atchlink:top:en state fitment for all the others. so i think I'll give them a try!

cheers Richie :)

Just spoke to Demon tweeks, they can get mintex 1144 pads in the 141mm height for the mk2 caliper, for £53. They are special order from mintex though, so may take a few weeks to arrive.

quiock update on this one guys.....

Mintex 1144's are WAY better than greenshite pads. I'd avoid greenstuffs like the plague!"

got a call from mark at demon tweeks last week saying mintex couldn't give a delivery date on the fiesta pads, and that it could be up to 6 weeks, so we went in search of some more pads.

It turns out, that the mk3 fiesta, Non ABS model only, uses the same 141mm high pad as the 1.1 mk2.

I've now got a lovely set of ferrodo ds2500's ready to go on, at a cost of £58 a pair.

I'm really happy about this, as they were my original pad of choice, having run them for 2 years on my daily and loved them.

Did these fit? I know the XR2 ones dont as I had a set, they fit in the carriers but are too wide and make contact on the side of the slide so wont touch the disc...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

they do indeed!

I fitted them about 2 months ago, and they work perfectly. they're definately the mk3 non ABS pads.

I think the total cost was £65 delivered, and tehy seem to be working really well!

from Demon tweeks, they were actually really helpful, and spent ages on the phone looking through loads of different pad types and stuff until they found one they were sure would work.

the guy said it was from the non abs mk3 1.1, and the pad height is definately 141mm, as opposed to 151 on the XR2 pads.

No part number I'm afraid, but the guys at DT were very helpful in finding them for me!

In stock too!
