Whats are these called?

Ive tied searching the net for "cyinder lip/ridge/tool/reamer' etc, but not having much luck at all, need one that can do a 998, so bore diameter 62.93mm

honing tool

I just use a 3 legged honing tool too....just hang it out of the bore a bit and let the stones run at an angle.

that looks fancy, i've never seen one like that before, TBH, i've if needed just used some course wet and dry paper to help the rings on there way into the bords.

I was being serious, I always use a small file to put a radius on the top of the bore.

are we talkign a tool to chamfer the bore, or a tool to remove the ridge in a standard(or used) bore above the area swept by the first ring?

I use wet and dry for the worst of it and finnish of with the honing tool

i scrape away any carbon, then get a honing tool in there :)

mini boo, thats the sort of thing i was looking for, but its 3" to 5" adjustable, and the little 63mm bore on the 998 is just a little too small

nevermind anyway as i went mad with the honing tool tonight and it worked a treat, so cheers lads problem solved and I now can finally get on with a dry build, hurrah!
