Ive jsut finished making some polycarb windows for my doors and bolted them into place. I want to drill the windows for a bit of ventilation but wondered where the best place would be, to get the most airflow through them with minimal holes? (e.g front, middle, back of window).

Im thinking middle, as the seem would probably be reflecting air away at the front edge, but im not too sure?

I was looking at drilling about 9 x 25mm dia holes in a square pattern.

Cheers
Matt

Not sure about location, but have you thought about drilling them at an angle, towards you?

In a MK1 with sliding windows you get better cooling from sliding the front pain back than you do from sliding the back pain forwards, in my limited experience.

You'll find in practise no matter where you drill the holes, you'll get bog all air through them.

If I were you I'd sort the fresh air vents at either side of the dash and make those work I think.

I noticed the same too Rob. Which is part of the reason I was doubting the middle. *oh well*

Hmmm the vents are still open, if I could rig it up to blow cold air on me wihout looking gash that would be the best way. Saves having to tape up the holes in the windows over night. Lol

Surely the standard "eye ball" vents are good enough for this task?

Hmm didn't think of that. I'll keep my eyes peeled for some at MITP.

How well do they work? I haven't had mine working for years now.

theyre really good .as long as you have a pipe to the front of the car on them .

One of the requirements I set when turboing my road car was to retain the 'eye-ball' vents and all the pipes that go with them.

Just so useful.
