Just a collection of phots taken over Friday to Sunday night at the IMM with me, the van and my club, Six-Ex Mini Owners.

Despite the woes I had earlier in the week with the blown head gasket on the van - which I finally fixed at 3:40 am on Friday morning just before driving to the show at 10:00 !, it was a great event with fab weather over the weekend. I don't think Birmingham Mini Owners knew what had hit them. They did their best to organise the 4,500 cars and 10,000 people who attended the show but there never seemed to be enough people taking charge. One of the Site Services (SS) guys told me that the reason there were so few showers and toilets was that BMOC had misinformed SS that there wer 4,500 coming to the show but had omitted the fact that this was the number of cars giving a completely misinformed impression of the number of people turning up. Hey ho. The Closing Ceremony on Sunday night was a great atmosphere with a fab band 'Quill'. Kind of Punk Folk Music, weird but highly entertaining and bloody loud. Certainly a good excuse to drink lots and have a laugh.

Nice to meet Carl and Tom again. Carls display of his Force Racing twinni sprint car with both engines running at the same time was a delight to be seen and heard, drawing a massive crowd on the Sunday ! Bloody great mate.

Nice to chat to some of you when I was showing the van in Concourse. In particular to Mark Lunn, Stuart Wright and his par.

Even better to come away with a Class win in the Modified & Custom section. It just goes to show that despite all the VTEC and bike engined cars, it's a Turbo A Series that can still beat the rest !

And the van went like a rocket whilst giving it some beans on the way home ! Dare I say 'until the next time the gasket gives up' ..........

Plus you'll keep Rick happy as there are some great shots of the Lotus Mini.

God knows how long it must have taken you to take them and then load em up.

Just goes to show that this was probably THE place to be on 7-9 August.

It was a great event with some absolutely stunning cars. It never ceases to amaze me the ingenuity and innovation folk can go to all over the world - such a common united theme. Just a shame there's not more of it in life.
