engine number is a turbo one?

Hi,

I have a 12HC16AA1 1664 Engine that i think it is a genuine MG Metro Turbo one but i cant find it on any websites.

any information would be apreciated.

I'm pretty sure mine is a 12hc16 but not 100% but I only found one reference to it through google last year stateing it was an 85 mg turbo lump
which matched the carb date

Isn't in the metro N/A list (bible) must be a turbo as the list lists all non-turbo codes.

Hi if ya type the first 6 figures of the engine code (12HC16) into google search engine it brings up about 3 results one of the results has a list of all engine numbers and what they relate to. Are you sure its 12HC..? Cos mine is 12HD..

Thats what i did when i wanted to check my engine was definately a turbo. :)

yes the number is 12HC16AA1

in google that 1st and 3rd are the same and it didn't say much...

Ahh rite not sure then sorry. My engine number was HD26 and when searched it came up with manchester minis website and directed me to an engine number list next to my number it said MG metro turbo. Couldn't find a HC16 number in there.
