Going to be fitting 2 harness mounts into the back seat upright for my 4pt harness just wondered if they needed to be welded in or just being bolted through would do the same job? 99% sure they've gotta be welded but thought i'd check first.

They are the plates we use when we fit seats in VW Transporters and the like at work.

Yes, that looks neat, but I wouldn't be trusting my life with it.

Get the proper FIA nuts/brackets instead, and weld them up. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

planning on using the std mounts at the front, seat will be mounted off the front of the crossmember cos i've only got stumpy little legs so won't be too far back.

i REALLY dont like the idea of harnesses in that sort of area, i just cant see why on earth anybody with a cage wouldn't use a proper harness bar. If you must put harnesses there, you really need to look at seriously reinforcing the bulkhead as its really not designed for that sort of load.....
And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |
