I've fitted my shiny new 10cc pistons to the conrods, but i'm really unhappy with the way one of them has turned out.

The gudeon pin isnt central in the piston when the conrod is, it's only about a 1 1/2mm, but i'm really concerned its going to go tits up.

here are some pics, do you think i'll be ok or could someone recomend what to do? i heated the end of the conrod to fit them if that make any difference?).

thanks

Mine didn't end up quite right either when I fitted them (heated conrod end etc...)

The official tool is a hydraulic press and fittings to match the piston and pin (same way they are usually taken out).

What I did was to make up a block of hardwood the exact match of the side of the piston - I profiled it with an angle grinder with a sanding disc on the end - and used a bit of M10 studding/nuts/large washers to centralise them.

They creak and groan a bit when moving them once the heat has gone but if you keep everything well lubricated, it's not a problem.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I dont think that being dead central is an issue.
I did like Rod and made a jig from hardwood (I turned it on the lathe and then cut it in half)

I have access to an hydraulic press to remove the pistons but found that I could press them back on using the jig and a vice. I didn,t heat them up either.

I have access to a hydraulic press so it looks like i'll have to brush up on my carpentry skills.

thanks fellas
