Well as with most quick repairs, you always find more to deal with. What started off a floor pan patch soon turned into a complete floor pan, seat crossmember end, fitch panel , shuttle corner, closure panel and boths sills and A panels.

Whilst it was off the road, i took the opportunity to fit a 1275, but again, as with most quick jobs, i decided to not only rebuild the engine, but to also make it a 1293 turbo.

I took the block to Avonbar who did a great job boring out and cleaning the block. I also bought one of their PH2 cams, Duplex Timing kit and an uprated oil pump.

here are some pics of the progress so far.














I then picked up the phone to MED and ordered a set of 1293 10cc dished Omega pistons. I fitted those to the conrods along with some ARP bolts (not shown in pic).








I've also 99% finished putting a central pick up pipe in the gearbox and will soon be picking up a cross pin diff and a centre main strap from minispares.

I've had a bit (quite alot actually because i've just not been able to find the time) of help from one of my brothers mates from GPR, he's been doing an amazing job of fitting the new panels and repairing other panels where needed.







Whilst removing the n/s A panel i found another dissapointing sight under a load of underseal and filler. The patch looks quite solid, although the welding is a bit lumpy and theres a small rust hole aswell. The A post is still salvagable though





I made myself useful by starting to fit the bulkhead box
