TM seems to be running slower than it used to, I'm guessing this is due to the increased number of members and posts, so do we need to put our hands in our pockets to get the server upgraded?

Yes, it was really slow yesterday evening. Maybe we need a whipround to pay for more speed.

I'd happily contribute something towards the running of this place. it's been a lifesaver for me after getting back into the mini scene and finding TMF has gone rapidly downhill in the few years I've been away.

It's easy to do, look for the donations thread (topped) in general chat.

I'm looking to speed it up without a server move, so hold fire for the moment. I just need to find the time.

Not very sunny swanage

now seems like a good time to ask this again....

on miniclassic, chip used to have a sort of cost thingy up the top so that people could see how the forum finances were doing, for server costs etc.....

now i think this is something that would work well on this forum. Take me for example, at the moment things aren't particularly great for me, short working hours and a fixed rate mortgage has made things a little tight in my house, and hence i havent given any money towards the server.
That said, if i knew that there wasnt enough money in the pot, then i would find a way to chuck some in, I would honestly rather do that than see Alex and Nicky have to stump for it.

Basically i guess what im saying, is if could see that the server costs were low, i would chuck some money in that direction. The fact that Alex just pays it and never mentions anything means it goes from my mind and any cash i find down the back of the sofa gets spent on biscuits instead!!

PS, as someone has kindly brought it to my attention, im off to throw a few quid in the general direction of alex......

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

I know Alex is looking into something like that, we were talking about it recently. BUT he's super busy at the moment, with over time, a new job and our lovely demanding nearly one year old - can you believe that?!

So, just be patient, which I know you guys are very good for always being anyway! :)

*wink* I'm planning some new features for TM - so with any luck they might help the speed too - just need some time to sort them out! :)
