Im extremely interested in the 7 port cylinder head, and have been since i first heard about the akm, many years ago.

My plan is to go 7 port with my mk1 im restoring, so all the information is really usefull to me!

lol, yep it does that,
you can swap it once your logged in though.

cost wise, there isnt a price yet, but its done by peirece manifolds who make the ally 5 port head, the ally 5 port casting is 815 USD., i guess they'll whack a bit on top of that so babe around 1kUSD? which i think would be cheaper than the minisport one even with import duty.

As it will probably be sold on minimania you have to take into account their stupid "mark up for no particular reason other than it says mini" price.

The Ally 5 port Pierce did was very well made. I had one. Casting was spot on. They just used unc on all the studs inc exhaust. so had to make some up.

...and with it being alloy it will be better for turbocharging with it being able to soak the heat away.

I traveled to Gilroy in the states to purchace my manifolds (3 in total ) from these guys (peirece manifolds) great to deal with.

But they are linked to WEBCON in the uk. So they might sell them through them who are very expensive. IMO.

The Guy who runs Peirece manifolds told me that they try and buy up all the rights for reproducing these sort of things. And the quality seems to be high.

I fancy another trip seeing those...

I would be surprised if it sold for less than $1500 USD.

If people were interested in a group buy, once prices are announced, I can poss arrange it.

Hope they didn't copy the port sizes of the AKM!!

reminder to myself-must dig out that model of billet 7 port head at some point.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Yes it would have been handy for them to show the inlet port entry, rather than cover them with webers. The AKM ones are a bit on the large side.

I guess at least if they are ally you can weld them up and experiment on port shaping.

true - it would have been nice to see them with straight ports and the option of individual ITB's rather than the customary DCOE flange pattern which is too wide to be that close to the head for the port spacings.

nice pics Joe - it doesn't take a genius to work out where the porosity problems they suffer when casting are.lol - hint where the intake ports on a 5 port would be - two rather large areas of slow cooling iron

you also get casting flaws here..... like on mine. Notice the 4 lock stitches.

To be fair the fix seems to be holding and Minisport agreed in writing to repair it if it ever failed in this area. However I would not expect a new head to have flaws like this. I didn't have my glasses on when I picked it up.

hmmm 1100 quid built,

nearly 1300 with import duty, another what 100 quid shipping,

so 1500 ish delivered,

cheaper than minisport, and looks to be a better product.
