alright folks, im new to the site, my nickname is spud (even my mother calls me that, lol). im amazed by the possibility of a 998 mini doing a 1/4 mile in 13 seconds. anyways im currently in the process off finishing my mini, (bucket seats and respray and we're done). problem is im not jealous of all this power and want a T2 turbo. ive been on ebay to look for the cooper 12g.... heads and i came across stage 2 heads etc. could someone tell me if these would be better? also could someone tell me the best intercooler and where to fit? ive read a number of these topics of this forum and still a bit confused. many thanks in advance xx

well, if you are sticking with the 998 then ideally a cooper 12G295 head,

you can put on the 1275 12g940 head but the valve over hang the bores, you may need to pocket the block, and tbh the 295 is probably better.

the best intercooler is pretty much the biggest one you can fit, but any inter cooler is vastly better than none. the cossie 2wd, R5, RS turbo intercoolers are popular.

The 12G295 is the best to fit as it will peoduce the results and give the right CR all in one go.

The problem with any stage of standard 998 head is that they are never really that good. Also any second hand one will not have suitable chamber size for turbo use.

The standard 998 castings are crap, even when worked. Fit a 295, or a 940 if your going all out.
