I am thinking about getting one of these, for my car. It seems cheaper then buying loads of guages and looks tider in my opinion.

I don't mind wiring everything else in but I was just wondering how would I get the signal to the tacho. excuse my ignorance, but electrics are one aspect of car ownership I've not got involved with.

Would the signal just come from the existing feed from the coil?

Cheers
James

Edit: Sorry wrong section, its ment to be in help needed

I've got the 10k version of that and was playing about with it last night.

Picking up rpm can be done in many ways, you can take a feed from the coil, from the spark plug itself or by wraping the wire around one of your HT leads.

thanks, better get on and order one, its good theres plenty of options for wiring it.

I'm going to get a 10k one, but can only find a decent picture of the 20.

Thought I might say that I have this more or less wired in now and it seems pretty good. The 2 stage shift light came in useful at castle combe at the end of last month. you can programme it to go yellow at say 6500rpm then at 6800rpm red.

I just need to figure out how to wire up the fuel guage as I ran out the other week. My car is even worse on fuel then I thought (that makes it really bad)

That said the light show when you turn it on looks awesome, though may not be to everyones taste.

i really wanted a stack dash but the prices are crazy high... these seem good value and i prefur the rev counter as a needle instead of a bar graph like on other clocks out there think i may be getting one when i can too...

Speeding is like masturbating, everyone does it, but not all of us film it and put it on the internet

supermotolee,

What's your definition of "crazy high"?! D'you mean the £800 full-on "triangular"-dash-displays? I went for the Stack ST700 series which looks like a rev counter but reads the speed in the display panel and includes an odometer (so MOT-legal). Still approaching £500, but looks pretty and does fancy pants multi-shift-lighting, measures 0-60, can add-on oil pressure, temp, boost pressure...

Cheers, Pottsy.
