Hi i am bulding my self a turbo mini and have come across a problem about my cylinder head?
I have a std turbo head but i have lost an exhaust collet and cant seem to get one anywhere. so would it be ok to use a normal cylinder head with non sodium cooled valves i also have a howely inlet to match the cylinder head would it be ok to use that as well.
Any help would be gratefull.

hiya, welcome to the forums :)

i'm pretty sure that the collets are available from minispares, few pence each.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Use the turbo inlet, its designed for the job and is much better at it than the N/A ones. (for turbo applications)

I have given minispares a ring and they dont have any? So the turbo inlet is the better out of the two. thanks for that.
also the n/a cylinder head i was thinking of using has been ported and has a lot of metal taken away from round the valve guides will this be ok on a turbo due to the extra heat?
I would like to use the head as it cost me a lot of money and it is very sexy and must be worth a few horse power over standard one. any reason why i shouldnt will you let me know.
by the was will 8.9:1 compresion be ok

AS you have found turbo exh valves have thicker stems and correspondingly bigger collets.

I might have a few lying around, drop me a PM.

8.9 will be ok, but not for much boost. The std engine was 9.5 so you have only gone down 0.5 which will only let you run a touch more boost than std, which was 7psi.
