Thats it, everything I ever want to bid on again is getting sniped. I'm fed up with bidding on something only to have it sniped by some cunt at the last minute for a quid more than my bid. Wankers, but I can't beat them so I'm joining in.

The best way to look at it is from the 'sealed bid' persective - Come up with a max price based on how badly you want it, and how annyed you'd be if you lost it by 5 quid. That way - if someone out-snipes / out bids you, then you know they paid more than you ever would, and it wasn't a bargain (to you). But yes, sniping is the only way to play. I also like auctions where each bid adds 5-10 minutes to the last bid time, meaning the 'outbid' party has time to re-bid. That is fair for all. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I dont see what the problem is. If you see something you want and set a price that you want to pay for it, what does it matter if some one else wants to pay more for it.
