Any pics of this? Just so I know where to grind mine before painting it?

I've never had to grind for a standard down pipe, do you have the adjustable steady on>

I don't even have a steady yet. Suppose I could get an adjustable one and tilt it forward a bit.

I mean the subframe, gives it more clearance. But thinking about it this was when I used to use the standard top mount rather than the adjustable one I have now!

What turbo and manifold have you got?

With a mirage of T3 on a metty manifold this shouldn't be necessary.

In fact there is enough room in most cases. However, I ground the flange a bit to aid fitting of mine, but it's well clear.

I haven't ground mine. Get the top steadys on and see what its like then.

Oh and also make sure that the exhaust is hanging 'right'. The downpipe should be at a slightly angle. If the exhaust is sitting too far back, it could cause the downpipe to foul the subby.

Right made some major progress today, as said there is no need to grind subby if you have an adjustible engine steady.I have wound the steady out enough so the engine is as straight as possible to the eye which has given me about 5mm gap between the subby and the downpipe, i could go more but i dont think its needed.
