just a couple of questions, no one seems to mention je pistons is this for a reason, also what do you all think of minispeeds ?2k turbo block 18cc pistons seem good but you guys never seem to talk about je pistons. i also remember some of you mentioning better engine builders than mainstream shops, any input would be great dont want tobuy something crap!!!

i'm planning on using the 18cc pistons in my next build. i'll definately be using morspeed again, well pleased with the short motor kit and head i had from him.

i haven't heard anything about the 18cc pistons either but they've gotta be worth a try.

?400 jim, brian slark sells them.

Its what ill be using, JE pistons have a good reputation so im guessing they'll be fine.

They are forged as i dont think its been mentioned.

MBE is doing my machining when i get round to it as well.

These pistons do have an excellent reputation. I believe they are available in +20. +40. and 73.5mm.

cheers guys, thats a lot of help they sound better than minispeed does ?2k seem a lot though. Whats the compression with +40 and 18cc dish was thinking of a 1293 anyway as everyone says its better less flex etc what do you think?

Depends on what your after, 1293 is better for BIG power as you can run higher boost with more reliability.(Allthough i have heard of a 1380 turbo that runs 24psi and twists driveshafts!!!) But if you would be happy with anything up to about 160bhp then you will get less lag and more torque with the 1380. I agree the bigger bore cuts the reliability of the headgasket, but Jukka has covered many miles in his 1380 and still no h/gasket failure so it does'nt make it unreliable enough to cause a problem. As for bore flex i think its a load of bo**ocks, just a personal opinion*wink*
