Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

So the shell to start:
New in 2000, and built by Peter Vickers.
Full weld in miglia cage, harness bar you name it its got it. Linked into the front subframe mounts and back shock mounts. Tied in nicely down the A pillars etc etc
Full weld in Rear anti-roll bar
No rust
Would come with carbon front end, bonnet and boot lid.
Custom alloy boot floor, not just a sheet but properly formed and reinforced
Custom pedal box, remote mounted reservoirs, seperate cylinders etc
Custom alloy dash, the same as a carbon miglia one but in alloy.
full width bulkhead box
Seam welded and strengthened around all suspension points.
Full braided brake lines front to rear included and mounted bias valve for the rears
No rust other than surface rust on the bottom. It just wants a scrub and paint but only being the underside can be done by hand.
Custom mount for a steering column etc.
I would say to build a shell like this you would be looking at around 10k.

I would like 3000 for it bare for the above. no subframes etc. Its as near to a full new motorsport shell as you will get and immaculately prepared. All perfect welds etc.

Pics in here:

I remember back in the olden days when you and Dan just got these miglias. You offered so much hope, and now look at both of you

Pathetic

ha ha!

Hey i've had mine on the strip unlike dan *happy*

to be honest with a mig, there is no way to keep with the likes of you carrying all the extra weight.

Times change and like i say, its not sold yet. if nobody buys it then i guess i will keep it and just do stuff as and when i can.

Sorry to hijack, but does this statement imply that migs are fairly heavy? I always thought they were super light!

they're not as light as something with no cage or restrictions as what you can modify...

i.e. beams, alloy radius arms, tubular subbys, disc brakes etc etc

In relation to some of the "drag cars" on here, they are fat. But in reality, i wouldnt have thought they are all that heavy! and the added stiffness will pay off on the track no end!

Good luck with the sale. Like you say its well sorted so im sure it will find a good home!

yup, you've got it in one james!

you only need one jacking point per side for these things! it really is soooo stiff! oo err! ha ha!

I think a mig all up weighs in short of 700kgs, IIRC the min weight limit is 670kgs without driver.

ah, i thought the 660 was not including the driver!

maybe its a lot lighter than a thought but to be honest i didnt think so.

660kg is the minimum weigh but I'm not sure if that includes the driver or not.

EDIT: Having fitted a Miglia cage myself and experienced first hand the work that goes into it, I am off the view that the £4K that Iain is asking for his shell is a bargain.

I think quite a few people on here want this shell.

I'm sure it will go to a good home.

Have you got any pics for this thread iain?

indeed wight limit is 660kg's with driver.

Iain, you car should be pretty close weight to mine, with my 15 stone in the car my car is 662kgs with 1/2 tank off fuel (checked a few days before MITP). I'de have guessed that our cars would have been within 10kgs.

That said a miglia shell is always going to be heavy compared to a drag racing mini, I'm guessing my car is over 100kg's heavier than nics and the Don. (Which makes me even more happy to get in the 12's)

Indeed, twice this week I've gone out to the workshop and found Sturgeo sitting in the Mig going "Brum Brum" *happy*

We were under the impression that ours was around 530 kgs without driver in Miglia race trim.
