what's the best way to bed in some new EBC green stuff pads on 7.5 S discs?

Best way I find to bed in any brakes is ti drive with my left foot on the brake pedal until they start to fade (or get very hot).

Let them cool down, jobs-a-good-one.

IMO Greens stuff's are over rated, tried "reds" to on the track and did'nt feel any different to greens except they did'nt last as long.

Genuine Unipart S pads are very good, used those in hillclimb as they work very well from cold.

As Will said, give a bit of left foot braking. Should'nt take long at all.

not done a million miles yet, but i'm trying the 'black stuff' pads and they seem ok, not seen any track action though, just a little spirited road driving!

I ususally use Ferodo road [pads in everything, never had a problem.

atm I've got Halfords pads in the Hillclimber and they've been spot on, very cheap too.

Tried 1144s once, they were so bad when cold I took them out after 50 miles. Still got them somewhere, I wonder if they have a use-by date?

Yeah, my greenstuff ones were spongy for a while and then, just like that, they are great. No problems. I had some EBC ones which were black and had "Kevlar" written on the back, they were good also. I replaced them as a matter of procedure.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

i had some green stuff pads and they were crap, i found everytime i drove i had to press the pedal whilst moving to get some heat into them before they became any good.

then i did a track day where they were incredible and the bite on them for a few days after was great until they went back to being crap.

ive been told that you need to use slotted discs on them to stop them from glazing which seems logical enough, so ive got another set for my 4pots and a set of slotted discs hoping itll improve matters

Im using carbon metallic pads on 7.5" discs.
Unbelievable braking with no fade, there recommended to be used with solid discs to keep heat in!!! There are a few negative points mind, they make a bloddy mess of your wheels, eat discs (allthough i havent done the miles to find this out yet). And pricy, about ?58 for the tiny 7.5" type, but not noisy as i was led to believe. I have no servo so the pedal required some pushing with previous pads but now feels like its got a servo with these.

I have used greens in the past, with groved disks, no problem, loved em. I've got new groved disks, and green pads. Now the lathe is up and running in the workshop, I can turn my disks down and get them stuck on.

yea, we got a small genny. only 80kva 3 phase, driven by a perkins 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine from a bus! we now have two lathe's and the milling machine hooked up, this weekend I hope to wire up the tig and the mig to it, as they are both dual phases. no more flickering lights!
