hey,

ive jsut got my hands on a free turbo from a friends wrecking yard. Its got TD04-09 on it. I was wondering if this would work on a 1098cc thats been bored and had alot of head work?

Also what is the exhaust manifold that doesnt require you to install a turbo box?

The exhaust manifold is the Mirage Manifold. This is for the TD02...

If your head has had a lot of work and was intended for a normally aspirated engine, then it has most likely been skimmed to raise the CR - exactly the opposite of what you want for turbo applications....

Oh ok well im not sure if it has been skimmed, but if it hasnt been skimmed or a get a head done for a turbo application will it be to big? Im not wanting to run huge amounts of boost just something to add abit more get up and go

Would a TF035 Turbo be better suited for a 1098cc?

Can't comment on the turbo size but if you want to know if your head has been skimmed, measure its thickness (vernier calipers are accurate enough), they all start life at 2.750" thick and are very rarely skimmed on the top face (and if they are, it is only by a few thou).

the mirage is for a T2, not sure on the TD02 as i've not heard of it. Also the GT15/17/20 range mostly use a T2 flange.

well, without ar's its hard to be tell for sure, but...

td04's tend to be off volvo t5's, impreza's, evo's etc

so you looking at 2000cc engines and more engines, with 200 to 300 hp

so unless you live in cornwall and your name is peter, id say using one on a small bore motor effectively isnt going to happen
