Hi guys.

Before I decide whether to scrap my old car, I’d like to offer it to fellow TM members.

I’ve still got the Minivan to keep me going but the time has come to say goodbye to my Hyundai Lantra for something a bit more up to date.

Cutting to the chase, I’m offering my Lantra to anyone who is in need of a cheap runabout or a starter car for a learner driver, teenage son or daughter.

It’s a Hyundai Lantra 1.5L Jura in Silver, 1995 petrol model, reg: N773 BYD, tax’d and MOT’d until end Nov 09. 167k miles, 70k of which is on a replacement engine and recon 5 speed box that was fitted in July 2004. Ins Grp 6, very cheap to insure. Great load space.

The car has been used daily to get me to and from work for the last 5 years, it’s been very reliable and has required minimal stuff to get it through the last four MOTs. It’s certainly not pristine with a few cosmetic bubbles under the rear wheel arches, a dent in the passenger door and a few scrapes on the front bumper but it cleans up well, is a reasonable colour and has been looked after inside.

I was half way through servicing it and in the last few days have fitted new plugs, rotor arm, leads, re-set the tappets and a few other jobs. I didn’t get around to doing the oil change but a new filter and 5 ltrs of oil comes with the car, as well as a new head gasket set, alternator and cam belts, all in their boxes ready to go on.

All I’m asking for is the price to cover the parts I bought last week; £100.

Ideally, I’d like to see it go as soon as possible. It’s a great runner and I’d be gutted if I have to send it to the scrappie.

Also, forgot to mention, it also comes with a Factory Hyundai Full Workshop Manual. That alone cost me £90 in 2005, Haynes don't do one. I used it when I changed the engine. Piece of cake, bloody fab book, 2 inches thick.

Why don't these cars ever come up when I need one....Well, actually noone ever needs a Hyiuidaui, but to get parts home it would be bareable

Please someone - take this off my hands, it's too good to scrap and I don't think I'm insulting anybody asking for only £100.

I'm just keen it gets used. It's been a great runabout and is absolutely no effort to drive or run.

Has a spare cylinder head, inlet manifold, throttle body and injectors, new ignition parts fitted and comes with a new spare head set, cam belt, alternator belt still in their boxes ready to be fitted, 2 new front tyres with less than 1000 miles on them and a Hyundai Workshop Manual.

If no interest, it'll be going to the crusher on Sat 19th.
